IGT and GTECH Combine in New Joint Venture

Public Video Lottery Market Targeted

RENO, NV and WEST GREENWICH, R.I., September 30, 1996

International Game Technology, (NYSE “IGT”) and Dreamport, Inc., the gaming and entertainment subsidiary of GTECH Corporation (NYSE “GTK”), today announced the launch of IGDreamport, a new joint venture that will pursue opportunities in the emerging public video lottery gaming market. IGDreamport will develop, improve and market video lottery technology, games and services designed to expand the product offerings available to government sponsored lotteries worldwide.

IGDreamport will leverage the significant strengths and market leading positions of each company. IGT is the world’s leading provider of gaming machine technology and GTECH, Dreamport’s parent, is the world’s leading provider of central system technology and services for lotteries. With that solid foundation, IGDreamport will pursue a strategy aimed at creating new synergies, adding value and expanding the capabilities to both companies.

Commenting on the announcement, William Y. O’Connor, President and Chief Operating Officer of GTECH said, “Gaming markets, once separate, are in convergence. A continuum of gaming has formed that is driven and advanced by technology. The joint venture agreement provides for a minimum five-year term with renewable option years. Management responsibilities, revenues and expenses of the joint venture will be shared equally by the two companies.

Currently, it provides video lottery products and services to numerous jurisdictions throughout the world. The Company recently opened The Harrington Raceway’s Midway Slots and Simulcast in Harrington, Delaware with its partner Full House Resorts, Inc. Dreamport and Full House Resorts also participated jointly with the Coquille Indian Tribe in the development of the Mill Casino located in Coos Bay/North Bend, Oregon.
